Archos has put up a teaser image for a tablet labeled as the “Gen 10” on their international Facebook page. It doesn’t come with any details about the tablet itself, though. The image itself offers a steeply-angled view of the white slate, while the message under it only says “Archos Gen 10 is coming… see you in 3 weeks for the launch announcement.” Archos did release a preview video of their upcoming G10 XS tablet back in March that offers a look at the tablet from other angles though. Check the video after the break.
Yeah, it doesn’t offer any details either. But they did mention a few tidbits back in March when they first announced their 2012 lineup. If this ‘Gen 10’ tablet is indeed the G10 XS – and we believe it is – then expect to see a line of tablets that could out-slim the iPad with a 7.6mm-thick steel frame. It was also shown to go with a slim keyboard dock accessory that doubles as a protective front cover when folded together.
Archos detailed three models during the March announcement, with a 7-inch model that starts at 129EUR, an 8-incher priced at 149EUR, and a ten-incher that costs 199EUR. Archos also detailed a September release during the earlier event, so the official word coming in three weeks sounds just about right. The specs weren’t detailed, but at these prices, expect to see a basic feature set that’s just good enough to satisfy Google standards for running Android.
