A leak has revealed that Asus is prepping to release a line of dedicated accessories for the Nexus 7 tablet. Not that much of a shocker – we really didn’t expect Asus to stop with the one colored cover accessory that they’ve already unveiled anyway, but if you’re planning to pimp out your Nexus 7, here’s what to expect.
The leak includes five different accessories; four of them are cases with different functions, while the last is an “official” Nexus 7 screen protector (shown up top) that features a fingerprint-resistant surface.
The Rotating Stand Case is a leather case that wraps around the Nexus 7, and a hinge that allows the tablet to be held up in a landscape or portrait position for viewing.
The Stand Case is a cheaper case that doesn’t come with a rotating hinge, but features a folding cover that can prop up the tablet in landscape mode.
The Folio Case is a simple folder-styled cover that opens and closes like a book. The padded front cover is embedded with magnets for automatically turning the screen on and off, and can be folded back to act as a stand. The cover’s interior also features pockets for use as a wallet.
The Bluetooth Keyboard Case should be pretty self-explanatory. Like a number of available keyboard cases for the iPad and other tablets, the case’s inner cover features a slim keyboard that hooks up with the Nexus 7 via Bluetooth. A flip stand at the back holds the screen up for typing.
Pricing and availability wasn’t mentioned, but these accessories are expected to be released soon.
