A fresh batch of coinciding rumors has pegged a launch date for the upcoming 2012 iPhone. According to sources at iMore, the new iPhone is expected to be launched during an event on September 12th, which would return the iPhone to Apple’s old fall launch schedule. Interestingly, the event won’t be for the iPhone alone. The source also mentioned that Apple will also use the event to announce the much-rumored 7-inch iPad mini and the next-gen iPod nano on the same date.
Besides the launch event, the tipster also detailed a release date for the iPhone 5 nine days later, falling around the third week of September, but didn’t mention a release date for the iPad mini or iPod nano.
No word on launch plans regarding the iPod touch, but it could also be unveiled at the same event. Apple usually holds an event for announcing all their iPods, and since the iPod nano was mentioned here, it doesn’t sound that farfetched.
