There’s been a lot of talk about the next-gen iPhone and a possible ‘iPad mini’ that’ll reportedly rock a 7.65-inch screen, but if you’re interested about an update to Apple’s entry-level iOS device (that would be the iPod touch, by the way), there’s news that it’s up for a significant upgrade both inside and out.
According to this post at Japanese site Macotakara, the upcoming iPod touch will be receiving the same dual-core A5 processor currently running on the iPhone 4S. Outside, will also reportedly going to rock a bigger screen to match that of the upcoming ‘iPhone 5’. If rumors regarding the 2012 iPhone prove true – and we believe that a screen size upgrade is very likely – the iPod touch could get a 4-inch screen (or 3.99 inches, according to at least one detailed report).
The back cover will also be getting a change, from the shiny chrome back on the current-gen iPod to a matte aluminum back used on the iPad. This would be another nice change – the chrome back on the current model easily gets scratched and smudged.
