In case you haven’t seen it yet, here’s Google’s first commercial for the Nexus 7, the $199 Android-based tablet that’s currently selling like hotcakes (actually, this tablet is probably selling better – we’ve never seen IHOP actually run out of stock like this). This first ad shows a man and his young son on a camping trip, but since this is a commercial for a tablet, everything they do – or all the scenes shown, at least – revolve around the tablet, showing it being used for playing a game of checkers, reading a book, watching a movie, and using it as a flashlight. Check out the video after a break. Just a warning: get ready for a huge dose of adorable.
We don’t think we’ve ever used this sentence before, but goddamn, that was cute.
Also, in case you missed it, that last part of the ad where the boy was checking out Maps – probably a giveaway that they were camping in their backyard. The Nexus 7 only has a Wi-fi connection.
