Edifier has started shipping the E30 Spinnaker, a Bluetooth stereo system designed to hook up with mobile devices. The unconventional design is said to enhance the speaker’s performance, as well as make it stand out from a crowd… or at least enough to get a CES Innovations Award when Edifier brought it to Vegas in January.
It’s not all about looks though. The design helps out with performance as well. Exactly how it helps wasn’t detailed, but the spec list should give a clue: each curved cone speaker stands 16.5 inches tall, with six amplifiers for powering a pair of tweeters, a pair of 3/4-inch mid-range speakers, and two downward-firing 4-inch bass drivers.
The Spinnaker featres Bluetooth 2,1+EDR, allowing it to stream wireless music from a paired device, but it should also work like any generic multimedia speaker with a 3.5mm input jack, while an output port will let you hook up a separate subwoofer to get more bass. It also comes bundled with a dome-shaped wireless remote that controls volume and track navigation within 30 feet of the speakers.
The Edifier E30 Spinnaker is available in black and burgundy colors for $350 from Edifier’s online store.
