Samsung has sent out word that they’re set to unveil a new Galaxy device in mid-August. The invite didn’t come with any clues or details about the device though, so it’s unclear whether it’s going to be a new smartphone or tablet (or a successor to their Galaxy Note ‘phablet’ – more on that later). All it says that the event is set to go down on August 15th, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern.
A number of rumors have pointed to a sequel to Samsung’s Galaxy Note that’s due out in August. Simply known as the Galaxy Note II, the phablet sequel has been rumored to feature a slightly larger 5.5-inch screen and a better 12-megapixel camera, a quad-core Exynos processor, and Android 4.1.
