Microsoft’s My Xbox LIVE app has been available on the App Store for months now, but it’s been limited to the iPhone (along with Windows Phone and Android). A 1.6 update just got posted that adds a number of bug fixes for iOS, as well as support for the iPad.
It’s a pretty welcome update, especially since the Apple tablet’s larger screen offers a better way to navigate the dashboard interface – letting you check out your media files and discover new content – a lot more comfortably. Like on the iPhone version, the app will also let you use the iPad as a gamepad with virtual buttons. The virtual buttons feel really clunky though, but it should come pretty handy in a pinch when you’re up one player and down an extra controller.
Version 1.6 of the My Xbox LIVE app is now available for free from the App Store.
