Price Watch: AT&T drops Nokia Lumia 900 down to $50 with a contract Nokia Lumia 900

You’ve probably heard about Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Phone 8 OS and it’s non-support for existing WP devices (like the fairly new Lumia 900). If you did and decided to hold off and wait for next-gen phones instead, you might want to look again. AT&T just chopped 50% off the price of the Nokia Lumia 900, from an already-relatively-cheap price of $100 down to an even more tempting $50 with a contract.

Of course, you still might want to think about it, given the news that you’re bound to run into a smartphone with an update path that ends at Windows Phone 7.8. But if you’re limited to a $50 budget and you had to buy a new smartphone right now, you could do a lot worse than picking up a beautiful smartphone highlighted by a 4.3-inch AMOLED screen, 1.4GHz processor, 1MP front cam, 8MP main cam, 16GB of storage, and LTE support.

And if you ever grow tired of the $50 phone and decide to upgrade sometime down the road, you can still leave this in your car and use it as a dedicated navigator running on Nokia’s Drive app. All-in-all, not a bad deal for fifty bucks.
