It’s a well-known fact that your day generally starts off better when you wake up peacefully, as opposed to being jolted awake at six in the morning by a clock radio that suddenly pumps out Twisted Sister’s We’re Not Gonna Take It on full blast… or by a guy that suddenly bursts into your room like this (coincidentally, that’s the music video for the Twisted Sister song we just mentioned). Actually, we’re not basing that on any kind of actual research, but you have to agree: having an alarm clock that’s a little more polite would be a better way to start the day. If you’re looking to replace that old clock radio you have on your bedside tablet with something that features a little more refinement, then you might want to check out the Wake-To-Light iPhone Alarm Clock.
Like a lot of other iPhone-docking clocks, the Wake-To-Light comes with built-in speakers that’ll allow you to play music stored on your iPhone or iPod, or from the integrated FM radio. Unlike a lot of other clock docks, this one comes with a nifty design that integrates a night lamp.
The nifty part is how it all ties into waking you up. The Wake-To-Light features a wake mode that gently wakes you with an alarm (either songs stored in your iPhone or from the FM radio) or a light that slowly raises in volume and brightness 10 to 30 minutes before your set wake up time.
The device features four 2-watt full-range speakers up front and two bass reflex ports at the back for delivering a full range of sound that you can further tweak with five equalizer presets. For those who don’t own an iPhone or iPod with a standard 32-pin connector, the Wake-To-Light also rocks an auxiliary port for connecting any other audio source, as well as a headphone jack if you want to be polite.
The Wake-To-Light iPhone Alarm Clock costs $129.95 from Hammacher Schlemmer. The bundle includes three dock adapters, a 3.5mm stereo cable, power adapter and wireless remote.
