If you’re looking for a way to protect your iPhone from more than the usual amount of daily abuse, you might want to check out this awesome case on Kickstarter. Called the TAKTIK, this case separates itself from the rest of the pack by offering premium protection in a case that looks really badass.

A couple of things about the case: by saying that it looks “badass,” we meant it looks awesome in the same way we think a Lamborghini or an Abrams tank looks awesome. While it adds a considerable amount of bulk around the bare iPhone 4/4S frame, it doesn’t look bad at all. The case itself is made up of a lot of components, with exterior bezels made of either Ballistik polymer or anodized aluminum (you get a choice), watertight doors for the ports, and even an extra Gorilla Glass panel to protect the Gorilla Glass that your iPhone already comes with.

While it definitely looks good, the design has a purpose. When they listed the TAKTIK as a case that offers premium protection, they apparently meant it: Everything’s sealed tight to protect the phone from liquids and dirt, and the case features a shockproof suspension system under the metallic exterior panels that protects it from more than the occasional “oops, I dropped my phone” situations. Check out the video below:

Apparently, it’s built to withstand phones thrown into hard concrete as well.

Looks good, right? For those who need the insane amount of protection it gives, at least. Unfortunately, the project needs to hit a funding target on Kickstarter before the case becomes available. Pledges start at $75 for the Basic TAKTIK case in black or white, while $100 will get you an upgraded case with the extra Gorilla Glass lens in black or white, and $150 will get you the upgraded package in silver anodized aluminum.

$250 gets you either the “Mix ‘n Match Pack” that comes with a number of different-colored parts and panels (including a glow-in-the-dark piece), or a “Future Proof Pack” that includes a TAKTIK case for the iPhone 4/4S and another one in the future that’s built for the next-gen iPhone.
