A little more than a month ago, Nokia USA’s president announced that they plan to bring the 808 PureView – Nokia’s Symbian-running smartphone that rocks a 41-megapixel camera – to the US, but without mentioning a time frame besides saying that it’s going to arrive “within the next couple of months”, we have no idea when it’s going to land. Well it looks like we’re going to get more info regarding that bit of news real soon; Nokia US just posted a few teasers on their Facebook page that all point to an 808 PureView announcement on June 18th.
They’ve put up three photos on their Facebook wall as teasers for an 808-related event tomorrow. The first one is a map of Hawaii, where the 808 area code is used. The second one shows the Roland TR-808 drum machine. The third is a bit more obscure, showing a cropped (and zoomed-in) photo of an album cover by 90’s electronic group 808 State. Whether you got them or not, they all show the numbers “6.8.12” though, so we should be getting more details shortly.
