Limited: only 900 units of the Batman-themed Lumia 900 will be sold

Phones4u, the UK-based retailer who got the exclusive deal on the limited edition Batman-themed Lumia 900, just released some info for the tech-savvy Bat-fan. We already know that it’s going to be a Lumia 900 in a Batman costume – basically a black Lumia 900 with a Batman logo laser-etched at the back and The Dark Knight Rises content inside – but if you wanted to learn about the dates, prices and availability, here are your anccswers.

First off, the phone is officially going to be called the Nokia Lumia 900 – The Dark Knight Rises Limited Edition, but since that’s enough to fill two mouthfuls, let’s just call it the Batman Lumia 900. Like the original, it’s going to run on Windows Phone 7.5 and feature a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 480 x 800 Gorilla Glass display and a 1MP camera up front, and an 8-megapixel snapper at the back.

The exclusive goodies include a black and grey skin for the interface, plus matching Dark Knight-themed wallpapers and ringtones and an exclusive app to complete the whole Batty experience. The app will also feature a “Claim Gotham City” challenge, where checking into certain Foursquare locations scores you points and unlocked goodies.

The limited-edition phone is currently up for preorders on Phone4U, and will be released in the UK on June 1st. It’s free with a £31 monthly contract, but will also be available for £599.95 (around $920) if you want to use an existing SIM card. It’s only a little more expensive compared to the vanilla version that the retailer sells for £460 SIM-free, but with only 900 of these units sold, you’re going to want to get in on this quick if you’re interested.

In case they run out of these things, don’t feel too bad. The regular phone will also come with a couple of free movie tickets for The Dark Knight Rises that opens on July 20th, with a chance to win VIP tickets to the premiere in London.
