Lenovo has finally introduced the IdeaTab S2109 tablet that they revealed in a preview video last month. Fronted by a 9.7-inch, 1024 x 768 IPS LCD display, the tablet will run on Android 4.0.4 and come powered by a dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor and 1GB RAM.
The rest of the iPad-sized tablet includes a micro HDMI port at the side and quad speakers built-in for mobile entertainment. It uses a micro USB port for charging and connectivity, while its built-in battery is listed to last for up to 10 hours of video playback.
The IdeaPad S2109 will only sport one camera – a 1.3-megapixel front-facing snapper – although that should be enough for a tablet. (Seriously, who uses a tablet’s cam for actual photography anyway?) On the plus side, it’s relatively cheap for a slate that’s actually thinner and lighter (at .35 inches thick and 1.27 pounds) than the new iPad without sacrificing screen size.
The S2109 is due out in early June for $399, but Lenovo’s online store is listing it with a discount, offering the slate for only $329 online.
