Incoming: Creative intros wireless Sound BlasterAxx speakers

Creative has just announced a new range of wireless speakers called the Sound BlasterAxx. Made up of three models (the SBX 20, SBX 10, and the SBX 8) that sport different speaker sizes and features, all three are mainly geared to work with today’s smart devices.

Featuring Creative’s new ‘stacked stereo’ speaker design, the speakers feature angled drivers inside a single vertical tower for directional audio and SBX Pro Studio surround sound tech to get a 3D sound effect. The speakers are also designed to hook up to iOS and Android devices via Bluetooth (except for the entry-level SBX 8, which is limited to a wired connection), allowing you to stream and control your music wirelessly via a Creative Central app for iOS and Android.

All three Sound BlasterAxx models feature touch-sensitive controls at the top.

When connected to a mobile phone, the speakers also serve as a speakerphone with the built-in microphone. Loaded with Creative’s CrystalVoice for voice clarity and other technologies including acoustic echo cancellation, voice focus and noise reduction, the speaker will let you move around in a room while talking (within the Bluetooth range of 33 feet, of course) and actively eliminate background noise to get you a clear conversation.

The three speakers are set to arrive in North America in a couple of months, starting with the $99 SBX 8 and the $149 SBX 10 by the end of July. The top-end SBX 20 is expected to ship in mid-August, priced at $199.
