If you’re already rocking a Sonos wireless system in your house and your’re satisfied with the range of sound you get from it, then you probably don’t need this, but if you feel like your stock system doesn’t give you enough ‘boom’, Sonos just released a way to fix it. Simply called the Sonos SUB, this box – a very stylish one at that – is basically an add-on subwoofer with a wireless connection that allows it to work with all Sonos amplified components.
The SUB features a design that allows it to be positioned any way and anywhere in a room “without any loss in sound or performance.” The cabinet features a pair of inward-facing speaker cones that promises to avoid cabinet buzz or rattles. Simply put, it’s a hassle-free add on; the wireless connection will let you place it anywhere within range of a signal, while the physical design allows it to be positioned vertically, horizontally, or “flat under a couch.”
The SUB will be available in a gloss-black version by mid-June for $699, while a matte black version is set to sell in September for $599. Yeah, it’s pricey, but if you already own a Sonos system, you probably know that by now.
