Marshall has put out a new Pitch Black line of headphones that include the Major Pitch Black over-ear headphones and the Minor Pitch Black in-ears. Okay, it’s technically not a new ‘line’ the way we know it; both the Major and Minor Pitch Black ‘phones are pretty much the same as the original Major and Minor, but redesigned in – you guessed it – black.
Not much of a change compared to the originals; the Minor Pitch Black come with a lot less color now, with the usual gold connector and rear plate repainted to a metallic black. The Major Pitch Black now features a headband wrapped in black denim (the original was wrapped in soft leather) to go along with a repainted logo and jack connector.
The new Pitch Black line certainly features a distinct look if you’re into all-black stuff. In any case, both kits cost the same as the original (which costs the same as the other colorways): the Major costs $135, while the Minor costs $80.
If you’re interested in putting in a little work (and don’t mind putting in a lot of makeup), Marshall is holding a contest on their Facebook page where you can win both the Major and Minor Pitch Black headphones and an all-black, custom-designed Marshall Class 5 amplifier. All you have to do is post a photo or video of yourself in corpse paint before May 28th. Best-looking corpse wins.
