Looking to pimp your “old” iPad 2 with a keyboard case, Asus Transformer-style? This one looks like a beauty. Or it is for Apple fans, at least. But since you’re rocking an iPad 2, then we’re assuming you are. Anyway, it’s a pretty simple kit: a keyboard case that’s designed to make your iPad look like a mini-MacBook Pro, thanks to a chiclet-style keyboard and brushed aluminum panels (it’s actually silicone that’s painted to match Apple’s aluminum exteriors, but that really shouldn’t be that big a deal, right?)
The accessory comes with a groove for slotting an iPad (turned on its side) along the top edge, but an optional multi-interface connector will let you charge an iPad. Other devices can also be hooked up using the cable, which also includes a generic USB interface. The kit also comes with its own battery that’s listed to be good for up to 55 hours.
Interested? The notebook case is being sold by a Japanese distributor, but you can also get it via Amazon Japan for the equivalent of around $75. The downside—besides apparently being only available in Japan – is that it’s specifically designed to fit the iPad 2, and not the new iPad.
