WD’s My Passport Studio drive for Macs now tops out at 2TB   WD My Passport StudioAfter releasing a 2TB My Passport portable drive for Windows, Western Digital has updated their made-for-Mac portable storage line by adding a new 2TB My Passport Studio drive. It’s more than just the usual plug-and-play porta-drive though; besides the regular USB 2.0 port, this drive comes with a FireWire 800 interface for faster connections on a Mac.

Designed with an all-metal shell for protection, the My Passport Studio also supports Apple’s Time Machine feature for doing automated backups, as well as hardware-based encryption and password protection.

The My Passport Studio is available in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities, topping out at $300 for the new model.
