Nokia’s Lumia phones have been lording over the Windows Phone world in terms of navigation mainly because the Nokia Drive app was pretty handy. Handy mainly for the app’s ability to get you to a location – complete with turn-by-turn voice guidance and detailed maps – without needing an active data connection. Well, this should even the field up a bit: HTC has updated their Locations app to support offline use too.
HTC Locations basically works just as well as Nokia Maps (or just about any decent SatNav app worth using, really), featuring voice guidance for both driving and walking for HTC’s WP phones — or at least the ones with the WP Mango update (like the Titan). Just download maps for the areas you need to get to, and you’re all set. The available maps are created by TomTom, so you can ditch your old SatNav units now.
