Verizon has officially launched the LG Lucid. Just as well, since multiple leaks have already revealed the phone’s full spec list and release date. What wasn’t revealed before was the price, which is what made the entire package a little more interesting. The LG Lucid will cost $79,99 with a two-year contract, which is exactly what you need… if you were looking for a mid-range Android phone with 4G LTE support and a sub-$100 price tag.
So here’s what you get for 80 bucks (and a new contract): the LG Lucid rocks a 4-inch screen and webcam protected by Gorilla Glass up front and a 5-megapixel cam with 1080p recording capabilities at the back. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM.
The phone will be out on March 29th, which would make for one of the most affordable 4G LTE smartphones you can get on Verizon. It’s going to come preinstalled with Android 2.3, but LG says an update to 4.0 will be available later.
