Motorola has updated their MOTOACTV line of fitness trackers with a new model specifically tailored for golfers. While it still does the usual fitness thing with a built-in pedometer, distance meter and calorie tracker, the MOTOACTV Golf Edition gets a little more golf-specific with its functions, featuring a virtual caddy and online clubhouse.
Specifically, the GPS golf tracker comes with info for 20,000 courses around the world, offering you distance data to hazards, greens and the hole, including your current lie. The device also loads specifics for each golf course, including par information.
The virtual caddy function will help you track your scores, clubs and other statistics, which you can use to compare with other players (including the pros). The matching computer software will let you check out each shot you took, along with satellite views of the course.
Interested? Then get ready to pay a little more. The Golf Edition is due out on April 1, but you can pre-order it now for $300, or $50 more than the standard MOTOACTV kit.
