Apple has finally confirmed the date for the much-awaited iPad event for 2012. They’ve sent out invitations for an event that’s set to go down on March 7th at 10am Pacific at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
Okay, the invite didn’t really say they were going to announce a new iPad, but it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what’s up. The invitation says that they “have something you really have to see. And touch.” The photo that goes with the message makes it pretty obvious as well, showing a partial view of what looks to be a really crisp screen.
No one knows what they’re going to call it yet, but everyone has been operating under the assumption that they’re simply going to label it as the “iPad 3.” The name isn’t set in stone though; they could still call it the “iPad 2S” for all we know, although the rumors have painted the next iPad to rock a radically upgraded spec that includes a Retina-class display, a possible quad-core processor, and a more powerful camera. We’ll know for sure when the 7th rolls around.
