It looks like HTC has changed their minds again and decided to go in another direction regarding the name of their upcoming quad-core smartphone. The phone previously known as the HTC Edge –and then reportedly renamed as the ‘Endeavor’ before reportedly launching as the ‘Supreme’ – will be known as the One X once it hits the store shelves, serving as the first of a new line of smartphones for 2012.
As a possible sign that this is likely, an HTC subcontractor has been known to have reserved the Danish URL htc-one-x.dk, while HTC has trademarked the One X name in Europe last year.
Whatever it’s going to be called, we’re up for a treat once MWC rolls around, where it’s expected to be officially introduced. The One X has been described to feature a quad-core 1.5GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 1GB ram, Beats Audio, an 8MP camera, and a 4.7-inch screen with a 720p HD resolution.
