If you’re planning to take an overseas trip and you want to take a train or bus to explore, here’s a handy app for your smartphone – as long as your smartphone is a Belle-powered Nokia. The company has released the Nokia Public Transport app, which gives you bus, train, and subway schedules for close to 80 cities and urban areas around the world.
Using the Public Transport app, you can bookmark locations to help you sort commute routes quickly, or just search for points of interest like restaurants and hotels if you’re looking to get somewhere. The app gives you a list of next available departures to the selected destinations, and offers voice directions that alert you once you get to a stop.
The app is currently available for free from the Ovi Store, with support limited to Symbian-based phones running on the Belle update. Nokia is also working to put out a version of the app for Lumia phones, but they didn’t mention a release date.
