iPhone 4S running on untethered jailbreak gets demoed on video

Tweaks and Hacks | Posted by on Monday, January 16th, 2012

Shortly after finding the exploit used for the untethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak for A4 devices, Pod2g announced that he was going to be moving on to A5 devices (the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S). Evidently, he was successful. Pod2gg has just posted a video of an untethered iPhone 4S jailbreak, running iOS 5.0.1 on his blog, showing Apple’s latest loaded with Cydia – and working perfectly.

A release date for the untethered jailbreak hasn’t been announced, but the blog post did mention “Only a few to wait now,” which likely means that it could be ready to go public in a few days. In the meantime, it would be wise to update your A5 devices right now, before Apple releases iOS 5.1. Apple has reportedly patched the exploit used by the Corona untethered jailbreak, which won’t allow you to downgrade back to iOS 5.0.1.
