Nokia 803 user manual slips out, shows interesting camera “hump” Nokia 803 manual

A user’s manual for what’s currently known as the Nokia 803 (model number RM-807) has slipped out, revealing a phone that runs on the Symbian Belle OS, general connectivity details, and a sketch that shows its profile. What makes this extra-interesting is the large hump at the back for housing the camera. The details for its built-in snapper wasn’t given out (it’s a very early document, and things could still change), but there’s been talk of Nokia coming out with an N8 successor that could be packing a powerful 12MP camera. If this is it, then it’s something to look out for.

The document outlines a few specifics. Save for general details including NFC, HDMI and DLNA, it’s pretty bare on the info. But if this turns out to be Nokia’s rumored next great camera phone, then we should expect a phone that sports a 1GHz processor, 3.5-inch WVGA ClearBlack display with Gorilla Glass and 512MB of RAM. It doesn’t sound like much, but the camera is clearly the highlight with a sensor that’s said to be bigger than the Nokia N8’s and a lens that might even feature an optical zoom.

No word on a possible release for the 803, but Nokia is expected to unveil a smartphone with a premium snapper during the Mobile World Congress in February 2012.
