It looks like Samsung’s compact Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet will be joining the upcoming crop of LTE-running tablets early next year. That much was confirmed after a listing of the LTE tablet was spotted in an internal Verizon system with a “4G” entry, likely referring to an LTE-equipped version. It’s a late listing though, so it’s likely slated for an early 2012 launch at the earliest, possibly as an announcement at CES.
Once out on Verizon, the LTE-based Galaxy Tab 7.7 should be one of the best options for people looking for a premium compact slate. The GT 7.7 is fronted by a 7.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen with a 1280 x 800 resolution running on a dual-core 1.4GHz Exynos processor. It’s set to arrive loaded with Android 3.2 Honeycomb and Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.
The slate also features a relatively weak set of cameras, with a 3-megapixel cam at the back and a 2MP webcam up front, but is capable of 1080p playback for entertainment, and is listed to be good for 10 hours of use on a single charge.
