A source tipped off details of Samsung’s tablet plans for next year, which involves an 11.6-inch, Android 4.0 slate that’s said to be released before Apple pulls the covers off the iPad 3. What makes it interesting is that this one’s going to feature a high 2560 x 1600 (XD) resolution and a wide 16:10 aspect ratio, supposedly to compete with Apple’s upcoming iPad 3 that’s rumored to rock a high-res screen.
The details also paint a sexy device that’s barely larger than the existing Galaxy Tab 10.1, thanks to a thinner bezel surrounding the 11.6-inch screen. The tablet will also be running on a dual-core 2GHz Exynos 5250 CPU that promises four times the graphics performance.
Other notable details include Android Beam for syncing media between the tablet and a Galaxy Nexus, as well as a wireless docking mode that that allows users to play games on a connected HDTV.
No word on a specific launch date, but Samsung is expected to unveil something big at the Mobile World Congress in February.
