If you’re a fan of revolutionary design, then you’re going to like this: startup Product Design has listed this glass keyboard and glass trackpad on Kickstarter for funding. Made using tempered glass, the multitouch peripherals rely on touchscreen tech called FTIR (Frustrated Total Internal Reflection) which basically uses infrared lights and a camera for detecting user input.
Accuracy with this tech – or at least how they’re applied to these peripherals – is unknown, but hey, they certainly look cool as heck. The two devices are powered by built-in rechargeable batteries neatly packed into the slim metal bases, as well as lighting and tactile sounds that can be turned on or off.
The Kickstarter project has so far reached their funding goal of $50,000, but shipping dates haven’t been given out. It’s slated to sell for $350 once the set is ready for public consumption.
