p>Here’s a quick and easy way to add extra ports on your MacBook Air: InfiniWing’s LandingZone is a simple strip that adds power, monitor, Ethernet and four USB ports to Apple’s ultraslim. But the genius is in the design: the accessory features two “clamps” on each side that locks both the 11- or 13-inch Macbook Air into place with a push of the lever, while the dock itself keeps the Mac’s rear-end raised for more effective cooling.
InfiniWing is raising support for the dock via Kickstarter, aiming for $50,000 by January 1. Once the target is reached, people who supported the project can buy it for $140, while everyone else can get it for $200 once the product gets officially launched.
The LandingZone is certainly cheap, but it does have a downside: it won’t support the ThunderBolt interface. But if you really don’t need it, the Mini DisplayPort is good for connecting displays with a 2560 x 1440 resolution and it’s certainly good enough for the price.
