Acer has introduced the Liquid Express, an entry level smartphone that rocks a 3.5-inch touchscreen and Android 2.3. The phone runs on an 800MHz Snapdragon processor and features a relatively average five-megapixel camera, but gets a little modern with NFC tech that can be used for short-range e-payments.
Besides the NFC connectivity, the rest of the spec is pretty average all around , but it all ties into a low-cost smartphone for people who don’t need hardcore performance. The phone also features a SocialJogger app that puts all of your social network feeds (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and Plurk) in one place.
The Liquid Express is headed for the UK for free with a £15 plan on T-Mobile or £24 on Orange, and is available in Burgundy, Titanium Grey and Pearl White. No word on a North American release yet, but the prices should stay low if it ever does.
