This is the Droid Xyboard 8.2, or at least a leaked press shot of the back end of the tablet we all know as the Xoom 2 before Verizon reportedly renamed it. While the tablet photo isn’t solid proof that Verizon will, in fact, rename the Motorola Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition to Droid Xyboard 10.1 and Droid Xyboard 8.2, the photo leak also included a “Droid Xyboard by Motorola” badge that pretty much settles it.
The only photo shows the device’s rear, although the front should look pretty much the same as what Motorola already showed off. The leaked rear photo didn’t have any “Xyboard” logo anywhere here, but it clearly has Verizon’s badge, as well as the carrier’s 4G LTE logo, etched on it.
Both the Droid Xyboard 8.2 and 10.1 should rock the same spec as the stock Xoom 2 so dual core 1.2GHz processors, dual (5MP and 1.3MP) cameras, and slim bodies should be expected when Verizon officially unveils them. Verizon hasn’t confirmed when that is yet, but the leaked press shot is a clear sign that we’re getting close to a launch.
