Verizon has put out a teaser video that doesn’t really “tease” anything, but it does show cool frames of something really fast cutting through stuff, and a bit of important info at the end. Specifically, Verizon just showed the Droid Razr’s launch date: It’s set to go on sale on the really trippy once-in-a-century numerical date of 11-11-11, or November 11th, 2011. [video after the break]
The binary overload doesn’t stop there though. According to Android Central, Verizon will also be making it available on 11:11 am, giving it a launch date with ten “ones” in it. Awesome idea for a much-anticipated phone, but we’d hate to be one of the guys in line at one of their stores. It’s just not cool if the store opens at 9am and they force you to wait two hours and eleven minutes just so they can follow through with the numerical gimmick.
If you don’t care much for the iconic date, and just want to get your hands on the phone as early as possible, just head to their website and go the pre-order route. You might actually get it a day earlier this way, since Verizon’s site still lists November 10 as the delivery date for pre-orders. Either way, the phone is set to cost $300 with a contract.
The Droid Razr is Motorola’s first phone to rock a dual core 1.2GHz TI OMAP Processor, and is highlighted by a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display with a 540 x 960 resolution and a fast LTE 4G connection. To make it deserving of the Razr branding, Motorola designed the phone with a frame that measures only 0.28 inches thick, which should be enough to give it the “thinnest ever” title.
