As expected (and recently revealed), Nokia has officially announced their entry into the Windows Phone arena with two new handsets called the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 at the Nokia World event in London. The Lumia 800 is the more premium model that sports a 1.4GHz single-core processor, 512MB RAM and 16GB of storage.

Previously known as the Sea Ray, the Lumia 800 features a minimalist body similar to the Nokia N9 that’s highlighted by a curved glass front over the 3.7-inch, 800 x 480 ClearBlack AMOLED screen. The Lumia 800 also rocks an 8MP Carl Zeiss cam with a wide f/2.2 aperture that should be good for taking low-light shots, as well as support for FLAC lossless audio and Dolby Digital Plus for premium audio.

The Lumia 710 is the lesser of the two models, featuring the same 1.4GHz processor and 512MB RAM, but with a slightly downgraded set of features. The 710 sports a 3.7-inch ClearBlack LCD (not AMOLED) display, a 5MP cam with an f/2.4 aperture, as well as 8GB of built in storage that can be added to with a microsD card slot.

Both phones will be running on the Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) update, and will come with extra software features such as Nokia Drive, a turn-by-turn navigation app that supports more than 100 countries, the Nokia Music store, and a Nokia-exclusive ESPN sports hub.

The Lumia 800 is set to debut in Europe for around $580, while the Lumia 710 is set to land first in Hong Kong, India, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan before the end of the year for around $375.
