Samsung outs first WP7 Mango phone: the Omnia W samsung Omnia WSamsung has officially launched their first Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango)-based phone, the Omnia W. The highlights? It looks like an average WP7 phone, basically – or at least one that’s fronted by a really nice 3.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 480 x 800 resolution, powered by a nippy 1.4GHz processor and an average dose of memory with 512MB RAM.

The phone sports Bluetooth 2.1, USB 2.0 and Wi-fi b/g/n connectivity, 8GB storage, and WP7.5’s standard imaging spec with a 5MP main cam with LED flash, autofocus and 720p recording, and a front VGA cam for video calls. Features include an accelerometer, magnetometer, and gyroscope, as well as ambient light and proximity sensor.

The UI features WP7’s Live Tiles feature that gives you real time updates on your email, social networks, news and messages, enhanced with Mango update goodness that gives it multitasking, video call and Wi-fi hotspot functions. Microsoft is also throwing in 25GB of free cloud storage via their Windows Live Sky Drive service, along with Microsoft Office and Xbox Live for gaming and productivity

No prices for this one yet, but it’s due to land in Italy first by the end of October, followed by a gradual global release.
