iOS-controlled toys are becoming pretty common these days, the coolest of which have been multiple variants of mini-fied helicopters. An iOS-controlled RC car? Meh. Sounds a bit too ordinary. But this one? It’s certainly a unique take. Like every other remote-controlled toy car, the “iPhone Controlled Wall Climbing Car iW500” features the usual turn-left, turn-right, and forward-back controls, but it comes with an integrated vacuum that’ll let you drive it up vertical walls and even upside-down on ceilings.
Why would you want to drive a toy car up a wall? We’re not sure. Maybe your floor’s cluttered. Maybe you want to keep it from being snatched up by your Rottweiler. Whatever. It just sounds like fun. But for normal on-the-floor driving, the iW500’s built-in vacuum can be switched off.
The iW500 comes with an integrated 3.7V, 200mAh lithium polymer battery that can be charged via USB that’s listed to give you ten minutes of playtime on a 30-minute charge. The car also comes bundled with a transmitter that plugs into an iPhone, iPod or iPod touch, and can be set to one of three frequencies for holding three-car races from the painting to the shelves on the office wall.
