Rumor: Sony Ericsson ‘Nozomi’ to rock a 720p screen sony ericsson HD720p screen

According to reports, Sony Ericsson is working on a “super” smartphone known only as the Nozomi that’s set to be their flagship in 2012. Just how “super” can it get? According to a very detailed leak posted on Chinese website IT168.com, the awesomeness starts up front. If they got it right the phone will be rocking a 4.3-inch screen with a 720p HD (1280 x 720) resolution.

It doesn’t end with the Retina Display-level graphics though. The Android Ice Cream Sandwich-running phone’s also described to rock a spec that packs enough punch to power the HD screen. According to the leak, the phone packs a 1.5GHz dual core processor (likely a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip) and 1GB RAM, as well as 32GB of onboard storage and a microSD card slot for expansion – all in a form factor that’s described to be similar to the Xperia Arc.

The phone will also come with the usual Wi-fi and Bluetooth connections, a high-end 12-megapixel main cam that features Sony’s Exmor R technology, and a 1,750mAh battery for powering everything.

No word on definite launch dates (except for a launch in “March”) or pricing (expect a high premium), but the phone’s expected to be introduced in January, most likely during CES.
