Verizon to ship Droid Bionic on September 8 for a whopping $300 Motorola Droid Bionic 2Well, it’s about time. Months (and months) after Motorola first showed the Droid Bionic off at CES, they’re finally launching it. It’s certainly worth the wait if you’re in the market for premium phones though. This device packs… well, just about every high-end bit of smartphone tech in it, highlighted by a dual core processor, an eight-megapixel main camera, and support for Verizon’s LTE 4G data network.

What do you get for $300 with a Verizon contract? A lot of smartphone. The Motorola Droid Bionic runs on a dual-core 1GHz TI OMAP 4430 processor, which is powerful enough to handle 1080p video recording and playback on the phone as well as on a larger screen via HDMI.

The phone also sports a 4.3-inch, 540 x 960 screen and a front cam protected by Gorilla Glass up front, and an 8-megapixel, 1080p-capable cam at the back. The Bionic will sport 16GBs of internal memory, and will ship with a 16GB microSDHC card.

Verizon will also be selling a number of accessories to go along with the Droid Bionic. The Lapdock (a dock that turns the phone into an 11.6-inch laptop-looking thing) will cost an extra $300, but the price drops down to $200 if you pick it up along with the Bionic and a 5GB, $50-per-month data plan. A Navigation Dock costs $40, a Battery Dock (that adds an extra battery) costs $50, the Webtop Adapter costs $30, and the HD Station is priced at $100.
