Android’s up on the HP TouchPad, with working multitouch Touchdroid multitouch

If you were one of the throng of people who snatched up the TouchPad when HP sold them for $100, here’s some good news for you – in case a $100 TouchPad wasn’t “good news” enough, that is: Team Touchdroid, the enthusiast group who tackled the challenge of porting Android to the built-to-run-on-webOS tablet, has successfully ported 2.3.5 to the TouchPad, along with honest-to-goodness multitouch support.

And not just multitouch that’ll let you pinch and do two-finger swipes. The latest port can handle up to ten-point multitouch, as seen on the video below:

Now, we have no idea what you’re going to do with ten-point multitouch support, but overall, it’s awesome news. The port hasn’t been released to the public yet since they’re still working on it, but it’s good to know that the project’s coming along nicely.
