Samsung pulled out two point-and-shoot cams at IFA, the MV800 and WB750, to fill out two particular niches. The MV800 is an all-around point-and-shoot that sports a 16.1 megapixel CCD sensor and a 5x optical zoom/ 26mm wide-angle lens. The highlight on this one is the obvious feature seen on its photo above: the camera sports a 3-inch capacitive touch screen on a hinge, allowing users to take self-portraits or adjust settings before hitting the shutter button.
The MV800 is also capable of shooting video in M-PEG 4/H.264, and includes a number of effects for shooting images and videos such as oil-paint, Fish-eye, cartoon and sketch. The camera will cost $279.
The WB750 packs a 12.5-megapixel CMOS sensor that sports Samsung’s Back Side Illumination tech for low-light shooting, and is highlighted by an 18X optical/ 24X digital zoom. The WB750 is also capable of shooting 10 frames per second and 1080p video.
Samsung hasn’t announced pricing for the WB750.
