This interesting dual-screened LG slider has been making the rumor rounds since it showed up at a June event in the UK, but besides the T-Mobile logo above the screen, no one really knew what it was called or where it was headed for. At the time, it was believed to be the LG Flip II, which would be released as an exclusive for T-Mobile US, but a new report just confimed it: it’s indeed coming to T-Mobile US.
The retail name is still up in the air, but the signs point to the phone arriving as the Flip II, as expected. According to a leaked T-Mo roadmap detailed on This Is My Next, the carrier is set to release a handful of LG-branded phones before the year ends: phones called the Flip II, the Maxx and Maxx Q (a “Maxx” with a QWERTY keyboard), and one more phone called the “Gelato” Optimus II. This phone? It certainly looks like a “Flip II.”
All we know so far is that the phone will run on Android, and is highlighted by a customizable touch-based app launcher between the split keyboard. If this is indeed the Flip II, then the rest of its details should emerge in a month. According to the leaked T-Mobile roadmap, the carrier will launch it on September 14.
