Toshiba-Fujitsu announced that they’ll be coming out with the Windows Phone IS12T in September. Hopefully, it arrives in other markets with a name that flows off the tongue more easily, but it’s notable nevertheless, since it bears the distinction of being the first Windows Phone 7 Mango device, giving it multi-tasking, an IE9-based browser, Twitter integration, and turn-by-turn GPS. One more thing that makes this phone stand out: it’s built with rugged protection, with a case that’s waterproof and dust-resistant (certified for IPX5 and IPX8 standards).
It’s a pretty high-end mobile, running on a second-gen 1GHz Snapdragon MSM8655 processor, features a 3.7-inch screen that packs a 480 x 800 resolution, and comes with a relatively powerful integrated 13.2-megapixel camera at the back.
The phone should be out first in Korea in September through KDDI for an unspecified price. Besides Korea and Japan, no word if the IS12T will get to see an international release though, so you’re going to have to book an Asian trip if you want an early crack at a Mango-powered phone.
