It’s been rumored for months, then recently leaked out (and then taken down), but here it is. Finally. The official version of JailbreakMe 3.0, the popular untethered jailbreaking method that uses a simple PDF exploit in Safari to crack open your iOS 4.3.3 device, is now live. Of course, there are a lot of other jailbreaking tools already available out there, but none as easy as this. More importantly, this is the first—and so far, only – method that can jailbreak an iPad 2 along with every other iOS device on the planet (or at least the ones that aren’t running on iOS 5 beta).
Like the previous version of JailbreakMe, all you need to do to jailbreak your digital friend is to launch the Safari browser and point it to http://jailbreakme.com. Then tap on “FREE,” then “INSTALL.” Wait for the online elves to do their magic, and when they’re done, you should see the Cydia icon being downloaded on your Home Screen. Poof! Two taps and you’re done. [via Redmond Pie]
