Okay, maybe the Xoom didn’t pan out as a good iPad rival, but a survey revealed that Motorola is working on a new device that looks set to rival the iPod nano and GPS-equipped Nike+ Sportwatch. We don’t know exactly what it’s called yet (according to the survey, it could be named the “MotoActive”), but it’s going to target the gadgety-fitness crowd for sure. According to the description sent to Engadget, the device is an “all-in-one fitness and music personal fitness device,” so yeah, if you’re into fitness, or personal fitness even, this one’s for you.
No one outside of Apple (and their manufacturers) really knows what the next iPhone is going to look like for sure, but we’re getting a clearer picture as we get closer to the expected September release date. Earlier, a schematic for an alleged 5th-gen iPhone case mold leaked out, showing a case design that looked more like the latest iPod touch (or iPad 2) instead of the iPhone 4. Because of the tapered back, it almost looked like an old schematic of the iPhone 3G that was dug up, but the edge-to-edge display and larger home button gave it away. Of course, anyone could have made that up… until photos of this silicone case showed up, revealing a tapered back that matches the mold’s design.
Title pretty much says it all: the BookBook for iPhone 4 case by Twelve South is an iPhone case that doubles as a wallet. And it’s designed to look like an old leather bound book. Albeit a really tiny one. Three features for the price of one! Well, two, actually. Unless you count the book-y looks as a “feature.”
iPhone users, you know what we’re talking about here. You have your phone in your pocket, maybe you’re walking, and maybe you’re in a noisy room. You hear an iPhone ringing, but you’re not sure if it’s yours, because you’re a polite phone-owner and never max out the ringer volume. Heck, if you never thought about changing your alert tones, they all sound the same, after all. Here’s a fix: PocketMode. It’s not an app, though. It’s a tweak that uses the phone’s ambient light sensor to determine if the iPhone is in a bag or pocket.
