Motorola Photon 4G announced, headed for Sprint Motorola Photon 4G 2Motorola has announced the Photon 4G for Sprint, a flagship phone that also serves as Sprint’s first international 4G device letting it connect to global GSM networks along with Sprint’s own CDMA, 3G and 4G. Outside, it certainly stands out, thanks to slightly angled edges that frame a large 4.3-inch qHD (540 x 960) screen, a rear eight-megapixel camera, and front VGA cam for video calls.

Inside, the Photon 4G runs on NVIDIA’s 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor (also Sprint’s first phone to rock the dual core chip), 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of integrated storage. The phone will come pre-installed with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), along with the latest version of Moto’s Blur interface.

The phone also comes with micro USB and HDMI ports that’ll let it hook up with a still-unannounced docking device, and features a kickstand at the back that automatically switches the display to landscape mode for some tabletop entertainment.

Pricing and exact launch dates haven’t been announced, but the Photon 4G is due out on Sprint this summer.
