Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 to land in NYC first on June 8th   Galaxy Tab 8.9It’s confirmed: we’re less than a week away from seeing Samsung’s slimmified Galaxy Tab 10.1 fly off store shelves (maybe). Samsung has announced their launch plans for the new 10-incher, which involves a special event at Best Buy’s Union Square store at New York City on June 8. The launch date won’t go for everyone though: unless you pick it up at the said store, you’re going to have to wait a few days, because the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is set to sell everywhere else on June 17th.

Samsung also announced that the tablet will ship with Android 10.1 out of the box, and will run on Google’s stock interface. Samsung’s TouchWiz UI bits that include live panels, and mini app tray will arrive later through an optional upgrade if you want them.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 due out on the 8th will be the Wi-fi version. Prices start at $499 for the 16GB model, and tops out at $599 for the 32GB tablet.
