AT&T has officially launched the HTC Status, an Android-based smartphone that features a 2.6-inch display and full QWERTY keyboard. Besides the BlackBerry-like body, here’s what makes this phone stands out: a dedicated Facebook button at the bottom that takes the user directly to the site and enable the social network’s functions. Designed for people who just can’t stay away from posting something on the social network. Or checking on everyone else’s updates.

During the BlackBerry World event in May, a hot rumor talked about the development of a 10-inch BlackBerry Playbook (known simply as the “PlayBook 2”) to compete with some of the bigger, more popular tablets. According to the rumors, the 10-inch PlayBook could be out before 2011 ends, but if this new rumor proves true, we won’t be seeing the bigger tablet, because RIM will be focusing their talents into developing the first QNX-powered BlackBerry “Superphone” that could be out by 2012.
When you talk about smartphone brands, Tag Heuer certainly doesn’t pop into the discussion that much. If ever. But here we are, saying “Tag Heuer” and “smartphone” in the same sentence. They just came out with the Link, a luxury smartphone that rocks a 3.5-inch touchscreen, rugged frame, and Android OS. The design certainly stands out – that’s what you get when you design a smartphone with the trappings of a luxury watch – but the specs? Meh.
