Asus applies for ‘Padfone’ trademark, obviously for tablet-phone hybrids

Asus is prepping some a phone-tablet hybrid device, probably several models. From all the teasers they recently put out, that much wasn’t much of a surprise. C’mon, “Break the rules: Pad or phone?” It’s pretty obvious that they’re planning to release some kind of pad-phone (or phone-pad), right? A recent application at the USPTO confirmed it though: apparently, Asus is prepping a line of hybrid devices under a Padfone brand. While we have no idea which devices are going to carry the Padfone name, the few devices that Asus has so far teased us with look like they fit the description.
