If you’re one of those people who keep complaining about the price of movie tickets these days or you’re just easily annoyed by the distractions from other people in the theater, then here’s a solution: pick up the world’s largest 3D TV and bring that theater experience home (but without the annoying public). Samsung is ready to let you do that pretty soon: Samsung just announced the 75-inch D9500, also known as ‘the world’s largest consumer 3D TV.’
The D9500 features the company’s LED-backlit Black Diamond Panel LCD, and comes with internet connectivity to give you access to online content (such as a web browser, Skype, Facebook and Twitter) from the comfort of your couch. And just so you don’t have to wrestle with online content using a clunky IR remote, the TV also comes with a QWERTY remote.
You’re going to have to put up a serious amount of dough to own this baby though. Costing the equivalent of $17,600 when it goes up for pre-order in Korea by the end of the month, it might take you a lifetime (and maybe more) before you see an investment return from skipping the movies. But hey, at least you can press pause at home if you have to use the can or pick up a sandwich. If someone’s phone rings in the middle of the movie, it’s most likely your phone and no one’s going to think you’re an ass for answering it. Or you can wear a really tall hat and no one’s going to ask you to take it off because they can’t see. You just can’t put a price on that.
